Hi everyone,
Today I'll be reviewing the book Confess by Colleen Hoover. This is part of the new adult genre that I've read a couple of books from. Honestly I'm really not a big fan of this genre but I really enjoyed Confess. I've also read Hopeless and I am currently reading Losing Hope, which I will do a review on when I complete the book.
This book is basically about a young woman named Auburn who stumbles upon this art studio. The art in this studio is based on confessions made by other people. The art studio is owned by a young man named Owen and naturally they find a deep attraction to each other. ;)
I definitely liked Confess more than Hopeless. I really found the characters in Hopeless very unlikable, at least in my opinion. I don't ever really relate to much to any of the characters in Colleen Hoover's books and just the entire new adult genre. However, I really liked both books and they were both very interesting. The plot was so intense and had me hooked.
One thing I really appreciate about Colleen's characters is that they are flawed which I find so relatable. One word I would use to describe Colleen's books is intense. These books just have so many twists and it is just one big roller coaster of emotions.
Something I found so amazing and shocking about this book was that the confessions made in this book were actually real confessions made by real people who sent in their confessions to Colleen. Some of the confessions in this book are just so heartbreaking and heart wrenching. But there are some really beautiful and uplifting confessions as well. This book really focuses on the imperfection of human life but also the beauty in life as well.
I read this book quite a while ago so some of the details are fuzzy to me but I really, really loved the idea of the confessions. It was such an interesting and unique idea. The overall plot line followed a typical Colleen Hoover book plot line which I found somewhat predictable but I still really enjoyed reading this book. There was a lack of closure at the end of this book but hopefully there will be a sequel!
So that is it to my review. Out of 10 I would rate this book an 8. I would definitely recommend reading it!
Thanks for reading!
❤
